County Road 7 closed for repair project

The Dallas County Commission has provided a detour route to circumvent the road closure on County Rd. 7 in Pleasant Hill.
The road closure began this past Tuesday, Oct. 24 at 8 a.m. The closure is due to the county reconstructing a segment of the road between County Rd. 62 and 12.
The best available detour goes through Sardis and returns traffic back to Plainview. It goes around the road work and advises drivers to take County Rd. 62 west to County Rd. 30, and then State Rd. 41 south to County Rd. 85, which intersects back with County Rd. 12.
The road closure will be in effect until further notice, and any questions should be directed to the county engineer’s office at (334) 874-2503.
This past June, Dallas County Engineer Coosa Jones told the Times-Journal that the last major repair to the road was done 10-15 years ago.
The plan is to plane, resurface, reconstruct and re-stripe the road.
