EDITORIAL: Christmas Tree River Walk is a sight to see and provides funds to help families in need

The walking trail at Riverfront Park has been turned into a winter wonderland with more than 40 decorated Christmas trees lining the sidewalk, all thanks to the Dallas County Family Resource Center.
The trees were all decorated late last week, and the Christmas Tree River Walk officially opened Saturday after the annual Selma-Dallas County Christmas parade.
If you haven’t seen it, you are missing out. It is certainly a sight to see.
Kudos to the center for coming up with such a festive, fun idea for a fundraiser. It not only helps them out, but it gives people something to go and see downtown.
Walking the trail and taking in all of the trees is a great way to spend some time with family and friends. Be sure to vote for you favorite tree on The Selma Times-Journal Facebook page.
