There’s nothing like family.
The Rainbow Family Center wants the city of Selma to embrace the message of “family as the center” of the community with its introductory luncheon, scheduled for noon today.
The center promotes an atmosphere of fellowship for people seeking wholesome, fruitful and meaningful relationships with believers.
Dr. Alesia Raine Norwood, CEO of the Rainebow Center, said the center’s goal is to meet the emotional and psychological needs of the family.
“We want to help children who come from families with drug and alcohol and chronic behavioral problems and provide an outlet of support,” Norwood said. “Our center is a ‘place of promise’, as symbolized by the rainbow, and family is the center.”
Norwood, who has worked in mental health and educational psychology for more than 20 years, said family is strengthened through a relationship with God.
“The healthiness and growth of the overall family is dependent on it,” she said. “We want to bring family together and improve family relationship as a whole.”
The lunch is from noon until 1 p.m. and is free of charge. The lunch will be held at the Alagasco conference room, located at 10096 Ala. Hwy. 14 West. All churches, businesses and schools are encouraged to attend. Call 526-2071 for more info.
