One arrested in connection to Camden murder

A Camden man is in jail after a weekend homicide investigation.

Eric Rochelle Gaines, 20, was charged with murder after Camden Police responded to a residence on 306 Brodd Street on May 26 at 7 a.m.

According to a release, officers found Kadarius Smith, 22 of Arlington, who appeared to have “sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the body.”

Smith was transported to J.P. Jones Hospital in Camden where he later died from injuries.

Gaines is being held at the Prince Arnold Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.

Two others also were arrested during the investigation, according to a press release.

Monica Price, 36, and Kendretta McCaster, 22, both of Camden were charged with hindering prosecution, according to a release.

Both were later released on a $2,500 bond.
