Group gathers in prayer over city, Dallas County

Members of the No Limit Church in Valley Grande gathered at Edmund Pettus Bridge on Friday night to participate in the Circle the City Prayer Meeting.
As part of the study a group in the church is doing with the book “The Circle Maker” by Mark Batterson, Pastor Matt Klimis talked about Honi the Circle Maker, a man that was “bold enough to draw a circle in the sand and not budge from inside it until God answered his prayer for his people.”
Klimis said that this study has inspired him and others to ask what their circle is.
Klmis said people deal with things in their life that they pray for God to change.
“100 percent of the prayers we don’t pray don’t get answered,” said Klimis. “What would it look like for people to gather and draw a circle of prayer at the Edmund Pettus Bridge and pray for the unthinkable? The impossible? The improbable?
“The Israelites drew a circle f prayer around Jericho and the walls came down,” said Klimis. “What walls might come down in our family, city, businesses and government might come down if God’s people drew a circle in a public place to pray?
“Bold prayers honor God and God honors bold prayers,” said Klimis.
The group sang a song of worship and then went around praying for different parts of the county including school systems, families, businesses and the government.
“We might look foolish out here,” said Klimis. “But in the Bible, David looked foolish with only three stones going up against Goliath, and Noah looked foolish building an ark in the sand.”
