Crosspoint Christian Church is getting ready to serve the community on Saturday.
The church is a member of the Association of Related Churches (ACS).
This association’s churches are mentored by the Church of the Highlands. This enables smaller, independent churches to afford the benefits of support through their association with other like-minded churches and the Church of the Highlands.
“Each year, a day is designated where the membership, through small groups, go into the community to give back,” said George Wood, who is with Crosspoint. “It is an amazing opportunity to bless others and be blessed. Thousands will go out into our communities and show the love of Christ in real and tangible ways.
“The mission statement here at Crosspoint is intimacy with God, community with insiders and influence with outsiders. This event allows us to serve along side others in our church as we show God’s love for all of His creation.”
The project includes nursing home visitation and prayers, limb removal and yard work, litter and grass detail, assisting with a local thrift store used to support a food giveaway project and a Fun Day at Valley Creek Homes.
The group also hopes to assist with Selma City Councilwoman Miah Jackson’s project Rise Up Selma, which is to happen on Saturday morning as well.
