Alabama Department of Labor releases June numbers

The Alabama Department of Labor in cooperation with the Bureau of Labor Statistics released June unemployment data for the state.
According to the state department, the Selma City saw an increase from 6.3 percent in May to an 8.9 percent unemployment rate in June.
In Dallas County, the department reported that the unemployment rate went from 5.8 percent in May to 8.2 percent in June.
All statistics are based on a 2017 benchmark.
