On Thursday, two events took place that showcases the importance of involvement and support to the local youth.

This afternoon, The Selma Saints were welcomed by the Edmundite Missions employes at the first-ever Blessing of the Saints.

Then that evening, George Burton gave hope to youth at the Kingdom Talk Ministries’ Lite the BLock event for youth and young adult empowerment.

The community needs more events like these.

During the United For The City event hosted by Elkdale Baptist Church and others, a pastor said that stopping crime and starting a drug-free life begins at a young age, and we are thankful for groups like these that continue to be a good influence on the young people of our community.

Their efforts now will bring about a better future for this city and county.
