The I am Every Woman Blue Jeans & Bling conference returns for the third year on Saturday.
The event, presented by the Word Ministry co-pastor Evelyn Scott, will be held at 3 p.m. in the Selma High School Auditorium. Her husband, Bishop B.A. Scott, is the other co-Pastor.
The event will feature music and a speech from Scott.
“This annual event is held to encourage, motivate and inspire women from every background to be the woman that God has called them to be,” Scott said. “It’s to accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior, without restraints, worldly constraints and no personal complaints.”
For the first two years, the event was held at the Carl C. Morgan Convention Center. Scott is pleased at the event’s growth since starting two years ago.
“It has grown every year,” Scott said. “God has blessed us with his presence. The women look forward to this event.”
Scott hopes women leave the event eager and excited.
“I want them to leave with a sense of freedom and deliverance, I want them to leave with a sense of pride and dignity,” Scott said. “I want them to submit themselves to God’s will. I want them to know that if they stay on the path that God has placed them on, they will have what they should have, they will be who God says they’re supposed to be.
“As women, we are suffering in that area,” Scott continued. “I want the women to know that they’re beautiful.’’
Doors will open at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15, VIP costs $25. They can be purchased by calling (334) 518-0262, or (334) 202-4178.
