ArtsRevive is partnering with The Cause Collective’s In Search of the Truth (The Truth Booth) project. Created by artist, Jim Ricks, the Truth Booth has been around the world asking participants to do one thing; tell the truth.

The 15-foot high speech bubble will be at the Songs of Selma Park at the foot of the Edmund Pettus Bridge on Saturday, Sept. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

ArtsRevive executive director, Becky Youngblood said she thought the idea was neat and would give citizens a chance for their voices to be heard.

“It’s this interactive contemporary arts exhibition,” she said. “The public is asked to go into the big bubble and will be prompted with, ‘The Truth Is’. They will then say what the truth is to them.”

After the videos are edited, ArtsRevive will then host a screening at its Carneal Building in 2019.

The booth will also make stops in Uniontown, York and Mississippi.

Youngblood said she encourages citizens of all ages to come out and take part in the experience.

First Morning Artwalk and Food Truck Saturday will also be going on that Saturday. Youngblood said having the Truth Booth in the city on a busy day in downtown promotes the positivity that is sometimes missing in the city.

“It’s really an exciting time for Selma,” she said.
