Vendors still needed for Dallas County Bicentennial event

The Dallas County Bicentennial Committee is still looking for non-food vendors for their Happy 200th Birthday Dallas County event set for Saturday, Oct. 6 at Old Cahawba Archaeological Park located at 9518 Cahaba Road in Orrville. The event will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Vendors needed can are non-food products including clothing, jewelry, novelties and crafts.
“We are actively seeking vendors and sponsorships for the event,” said Sheryl Smedley the Executive Director of the Selma- Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Information. “Sponsor and vendor applications can be picked up at the Centre for Commerce. All checks should be payable to the Selma and Dallas County Chamber of Commerce and mailed to 912 Selma Avenue, Selma, AL 36701.”
The event will commemorate Dallas County’s Bicentennial and raise funds for 50-year time capsules. Time capsules will be placed in prominent locations throughout Dallas County. Each capsule will contain artifacts from each community and memorabilia from present companies. It will also be a day full of local entertainment, vendors, arts and crafts, food and historical exhibits. A highlight of this event will be a walking tour of exhibits of each city, town, and village that make up Dallas County.
