East Perry Park will be filled with some down-home blues during its first Fall Blues Festival on Sept. 21.
This is the second effort to raise funds for the revitalization and up keep of East Perry Park.
Event organizer, Gwin England said all of the proceeds from the event will be donated to that cause.
“We’re just trying to build the park up and make everybody have a good time in the community,” she said. “[We want to provide] somewhere safe and nice for people to come to an event.”
In July, there was an Independence Day celebration, also to raise funds for the park.
Gates will open at 5 p.m. and the show will start at 6 p.m.
Advance tickets are $10 and it will be $15 at the gate.
Steve Perry, Mary B and T Money will be the featured performers for the night. England said she booked the local artists because they came highly requested by people in the community.
“A lot of people that I work with told me to do a blues show,” she said. “I got together with some of the local artists.”
Vendors will be present to sell their merchandise.
“I welcome any vendors that want to come sell their products,” England said. “All they need to do is contact me.”
