Art lovers will have a chance to join Gallery 905 for its flow art class on Saturday, Oct.6 from 11 a.m. until noon.
Participants will be making Geode art with class instructor and artist Valencia Washington.
“There will be a demonstration on a pour technique and every person will get their own geode to create,” Washington said. “It’s basically acrylic pour art made to look like a Geode with glitter, crystal embellishments, bright metallic colors, and resin on top to make it look like glass.”
The gallery hopes to get 10 to 15 participants to fill the class.
Washington, a six-year art veteran, said this is her second time teaching the class at Gallery 905. She has gotten positive feedback both times.
“People seem to be really excited about learning something fun, that they can go to the local art store pick up supplies and create their own masterpieces,” she said. “[At] My first class, I was received with excitement and warm welcomes. I’m looking forward to giving the people of the Queen City another opportunity to see that the city offers something different and safe for everyone to enjoy.”
The cost is $40 per person with a $20 deposit.
