The Edmundite Missions attended the 2018 National Catholic Development Conference (NCDC). This year marks the 50th anniversary of the conference and several Catholic nonprofit organizations from all over the world met in Chicago for the event.
Chad McEachern, Edmundite Missions President and C.E.O., was an altar server during the mass celebration. He also taught a class on innovation in the nonprofit sphere along with Chief Innovation Officer Susan Raymond.
“As a founding member of the NCDC, the Edmundite Missions is always proud to take part in the annual conference,” McEachern said. “To see so many people learning how to serve their communities more effectively at this year’s conference reminds me why the Edmundite Missions and other organizations sought to found NCDC 50 years ago.”
The Missions is a part of the history of the NCDC as the organization is one of about a dozen organizations that helped found the conference 50 years ago.
Networking and brainstorming between Catholic nonprofits are the main purposes of the three-day conference.
It is to help the organizations grasp a better understanding of how to help the areas in which they serve.
The conference consisted of exhibits, sessions about work in the Catholic nonprofit world, a Eucharistic Celebration, lunches and award shows.
“I was proud to share some of the innovations we’ve made at the Missions with those attending our seminar at NCDC. Catholic philanthropy is all about sharing ideas to make the world a better and more just a place for all.” McEachern said.
