The Dallas County Commission unanimously approved several items at its Commission meeting on Monday at the Dallas County Courthouse.
The Commission unanimously approved a liquor license for the Marathon Food store located on 4873 U.S. Highway 80 East.
The Commission also approved two items presented by Dallas County Engineer George Jones. He presented a U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) agreement for a staff gage on Bogue Chitto Creek for the Delwood Lagoon operation for $4,000 and AECOM agreement for CE&I services for a Federal Aid resurfacing project of County Road 33.
The Commission approved Emergency Management Agency Director Toya Stiles’ request for a joint funding agreement with the USGS for operation of a staff gage on the Alabama River that will cost $3,250.00.
“We do this every year, it measures our river level,” Dallas County Probate Judge Kim Ballard said.
Dallas County Administrator Barbara Harrell had a line item transfer on the 2019 fiscal budget, which the commission approved.
The commission approved Harrell’s second request: milk and orange juice bids for the Juvenile Detention Center and Camp Perry Varner. The milk bids for each organization are $2,861.60 and $1,737.40 for the orange juice bids.
Appropriation for the Family Resource Center’s Christmas Tree River Walk Sponsorship was withdrawn because Ballard said the county already had all of its appropriations for the 2019 fiscal budget.
Commissioner Roy Moore was the only commissioner absent from the meeting.
The next County Commission meeting will be held on Oct. 22 at 4 p.m. in the Dallas County Courthouse.
