Meadowview Christian School senior makes All-Star AISA game

Meadowview Christian School (MCS) outside hitter Alyssa Verhoff made the AISA All-Star volleyball team.
The senior will play for the West All-Stars on Saturday at the Cramton Bowl Multi-Plex in Montgomery.
Verhoff led the Lady Trojans in kills this season.
MCS coach Tim Burton said he’s proud of Verhoff reaching the All-Star game.
“She deserves to be there and is good as a player as anybody we’ve faced this season,” Burton said.
Verhoff helped lead MCS to the AISA Elite 8 Volleyball Tournament this week to Chambers Academy. MCS lost the first two sets 25-22 and 25-17 before winning the third set 25-21 and falling in the fourth set 25-19.
MCS finished the season with a 16-3 record, but the Lady Trojans won all 10 of their games in Class 1A, Region 2.
Burton believes Verhoff will shine in the contest matching east against the eest all-star squads.
“I think she’ll help her team against the East,” Burton said.
Burton said Verhoff’s competitive spirit and commitment to excellence made her a standout at MCS during her entire career. “I’m impressed with her desire to never give up and the desire to never be satisfied,” Burton said.
“She always wanted to improve as a player. She’s a solid all-around player.”
Verhoff made The Selma Times-Journal’s All-county volleyball team last year. She has a chance to make the team a second straight year.
