Bond hearing held for suspect in murder case

A bond hearing for a murder case suspect was held Tuesday in the Dallas County Courthouse.

Jacorbrem Surles’ bond was set at $1 million by Dallas County District Court Judge Bob Armstrong, according to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson.

Surles is one of the co-defendants with Kachivious Jones and Derrelle Billingsley for their alleged roles of murdering Marquel Woods on Oct. 26.

Surles’ and Billingsley’s charges are conspiracy to commit murder, abuse of a corpse and hindering prosecution. Jones was charged with capital murder.

According to Jackson, gasoline was poured on Woods’ body and he was set on fire. Jackson said this was the victim found Oct. 26 on Matthew Lane.

All three were arraigned on Oct. 31 by Circuit Court Judge Marvin Wiggins.
