The Alzheimer’s Outreach Group (AOG), LLC is having a rummage sale until Dec. 15 on 431 Church St.
The event will be held Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Old Social Security building. This is AOG’s first year having a rummage sale to raise funds.
Funds raised from the rummage sale will go toward Alzheimer’s research and Dallas County Project Lifesaver.
“We’ve always had a Christmas fundraiser at AOG,” AOG Director Oscar Wayne Calloway said. “This year, it’s the rummage sale.”
Calloway said local businesses donated clothes, furniture, jewelry and perfume for the rummage sale. He said the average price for items will start at $2.
Calloway said he expects participants to show up this week.
“We’re hoping for a big turnout this weekend,” Calloway said.
The AOG’s 2017 fundraiser was the Christmas tree on property of the old Vaughan Regional Hospital, raising $10,000.
