The next steps-Something has to happen in the Selma School system

On Tuesday night, Selma City School Superintendent Dr. Avis Williams explained the reasoning behind her recommendation to close Cedar Park Elementary School and Byrd First Class Learning Center.
We also learned that this recommendation to consolidate schools in the system is not a brand new thing.
It has been suggested before, and now the problem of declining students continues.
Actions must be taken, and this recommendation from Williams so far is the best answer to the problem.
It is a change, but the costs to have changes made to consolidate schools seems to far out-weight the costs that it would cost to keep the proposed schools afloat.
Something must be done because the numbers don’t lie.
People and students are leaving the system, which means funding for schools are leaving with them.
This is a problem that can’t be ignored for much longer.
