Today you read about a man who turned his life around after drug charges sent him to prison.
He credits his turnaround in part to our own Dallas County Sheriff Harris Huffman who allowed him certain privileges such as seeing his family before going to prison.
Now Lemarkus Snow is free and is now running two businesses in Selma.
That is the goal of law enforcement and the rest of the process is to ultimately rehabilitate criminals into functioning parts of society.
Snow was shown kindness by law enforcement which in turn encouraged him to do better.
Huffman’s legacy includes this and other moments of compassion where the bigger picture is thought about more than the immediate situation.
