Selma police are searching for a suspect in the shooting of two men Thursday night.
David Dashawn Lowe, 22, of 51C Rangedale, Selma, is believed armed and dangerous.
Selma Police Detective Lt. Mike Harris said witnesses to the shooting on Griffin Avenue identified Lowe as the man with the gun that left one man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds in the back and another man suffering from a gunshot wound to the right knee.
Harris declined to identify the two wounded men.
Police have passed flyers with Lowe’s face on it throughout neighborhoods in Selma. He is wanted on charges for attempted murder and first-degree assault.
Lowe is described as of dark complexion, 5 feet, 6 inches tall and about 165 pounds. He was last seen driving a blue Honda Accord, Harris said.
Authorities said the shooting occurred before 10 p.m. Thursday as a group of people gathered on a porch on Griffin Avenue.
“They were minding their own business and were at this residence, then someone opened fire on them,” Harris said.
This is the second time in a week a gunman has fired into a group of people standing around a residence in Selma.
On Saturday, a gunman opened fire on a group of men standing on a porch in the 1400 block of Church Street, leaving one wounded. Police have not arrested a suspect in that shooting.
Harris could not confirm Thursday night’s shooting was in retaliation for last week’s incident.
“We are looking into that,” he said.
Police are asking anyone with information as to Lowe’s location to call 874-6611, the police department’s secret witness line at 874-2190 or Crimestoppers at 877-3530.
