Today, a campaign to keep Dallas County clean is coming to an end.

Don’t Drop it on Alabama 2019 began last Saturday led by Dallas County Commissioner Valerie Reubin.

Reubin and her volunteers have worked hard throughout several locations in the county including County Roads 67, 38, 8 and 85.

The trash problem is something has been talked about for years in our county.

Littering lowers the value of our cities and counties and this group has been working hard to clean up problem areas in our county but it shouldn’t stop with them.

This problem is one that will never be fully fixed but as long as there are groups like Reubin and her volunteers, then the county will look better over time.

We must not let this weekend’s cleaning efforts be it until the problem becomes too much again.

This a way for us to move forward. Taking pride in the place that we live is a way to show others that we care.

If we do not care about how our county looks then why would anyone else believe it when we say how great it is to be here?

We commend Reubin and the rest of the campaign workers and we hope that others will join in the efforts to keep Dallas County clean.
