The city of Valley Grande is in talks of building a new subdivision.
Valley Grande Mayor Matt Dobbs said at Monday’s city council meeting at Valley Grande City Hall that the subdivision called Lauren Lane has been put on preliminary status.
A public meeting was held Monday before the council meeting to discuss Lauren Lane, which is down County Road 269. Residents voiced their concern over the area, but city officials decided to table the subject for the moment.
The city council passed two resolutions.
The first ordinance approved was Resolution #2019-94 to rescind Resolution 2004-12, which reset the City Hall’s office hours Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. The City Clerk’s office will also have the same hours.
The other ordinance passed was Resolution 2019-93, the 2018 Municipal Water Pollution Prevention (MWPP) Annual Report.
Valley Grande officials inform the Alabama Department of Environment Management that the MWPP Annual Report has been reviewed by the city and no actions are necessary at this time to insure continued compliance with effluent requirements of its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Permit.
The next Valley Grande City Council meeting will be held on May 20 at 6 p.m. at Valley Grande City Hall.
