A Bibb County Jury convicted Charles Ryan Carroll Wednesday on manslaughter charges that took place five years ago.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, the victim, Fonzo Cadell, went to Carroll’s home to get a tattoo done on Feb. 1, 2014.

Carroll refused to give Cadell a tattoo because he had been drinking. They got into a verbal altercation and Carroll told Cadell to leave. Cadell started getting into the car, but Carroll approached him and pulled out a .22 caliber pistol and shot Cadell in the chest.

The Bibb County Jury deliberated three hours and made their decision. Carroll will be sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Marvin Wiggins at a later date once a Pre-Sentence investigation and reported is completed.

“This killing by this gunslinger should have never happened,” Jackson said. “We are going to ask for the maximum sentence.”
