The Safe Harbor Women’s Clinic in Selma will be having its annual Sav A Life Annual Bass Tournament on Saturday at the Selma City Marina.
The Safe Harbor Clinic will host the tournament from 6 a.m. until weigh-in at 3 p.m. at the Selma City Marina. The entry fee is $100, plus an additional $10 for the fish pot.
This is the seventh year for the tournament and organized by Steve Craig.
The Safe Harbor Clinic is a pregnancy resource center that offers ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, options counseling, post abortion counseling, parenting classes and nutrition classes. Jennifer Dobbs is Safe Harbor Clinic’s Executive Director.
“The tournament is a fundraiser for the Safe Harbor Clinic, they get no money from the state of Alabama,” Craig said. “This tournament raises money for them.”
The prizes are $2,500 for first place. Craig said second and third place prizes will be determined with the number of people signing up.
As of Friday morning, Craig said 18 boats have registered for tournament. Craig said he expects the tournament to have its usual 40 boats participating.
Most of the prizes are funded by the dozens of businesses that help sponsor the tournament, according to Craig.
