A month has passed since the purchase of the Selma Mall for $800,000.
Aside from those facts, much about the deal remains a mystery.
David Hagood, a representative of Arovov, the company who sold the mall, has said that the company is not yet allowed to discuss the details of the transaction.
Both Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce Director Sheryl Smedley and Economic Development Authority Director Wayne Vardaman both stated that the details about the deal are unknown.
“The whole thing is very hush-hush,” said Vardaman.
Who purchased the property, what will be done with it, and the fate of its current stores are largely unknown.
The deal is currently in escrow and further details about the transaction should be available after the deal is finalized.
While rumors are swirling around social media about the purchase of the mall.
We cannot know for sure who has purchased this property but something is definitely happening.
As Vardaman said, it is impossible to tell if this is something that will benefit or hurt our community.
Information should be released about what is happening to property in our community so that we all will know what is coming.
Changes are definitely happening but what those changes mean for all of us remains a mystery.
Let’s hope that the new buyer will bring something lasting and prosperous to the Selma Mall.
