Ellwood Christian track star earns national recognition

Ellwood Christian Academy track standout Rashni Walker has been nominated for the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists Award of Excellence.
A sophomore at ECA this year, Walker received a certificate of nomination for the award during the spring.
Dr. Mario Capecchi of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists executed the honor in Boston. Walker attended the event in Boston this summer.
Walker won several first place awards during the 2018-2019 school year. Prep track season ended on May 2-3.
At the Class 1A state track meet in Montgomery, Walker was first in the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles,
At the AHSAA Class 1A Sectional Track meet, Walker won the Girls’ 400-meter dash, 100-meter dash, 300-meter dash and long jump events.
At the Thunderbird Invitational, Walker won the 100-meter hurdles, 300-meter hurdles and long jump .At the River Regional Invitational, she won the 100 meter hurdles. At Greensboro, she won the 100 meter hurdles, 400 meter dash and 300 meter hurdles.
At Water Under the Bridge III, she finished first in 100 meter, 300 meter hurdles and 400 meter dash. At a event in Birmingham, she finished first in the 100 meter hurdles and 400 meter hurdles. She won 300 meter hurdles at Spain Park.
At the Selma Last Chance meet, she won long jump, 100 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles 400 meter dash and 200 meter dash.
