Olis V. Prickett

Olis V. Prickett, age 94 of Opelika passed away on July 28, 2019. She was formerly of Selma.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Allie Gray; stepfather, Walter Gray; four brothers, Adolph Prickett, Herbie Gray, Eurell Gray, and James Gray; sister, Eloyce Prickett, and nephew, Newton Gray.

She is survived by her sister, Malene Williams; her nieces, Lorene (Barney) Caver, Irene Winstead, and Melanie Williams Smith; her great-nieces and nephew, Alan (Sonya) Caver, Charlene Caver, Darlene Caver, and Sandra (Greg) Irvin; and her great-great-nieces and nephews, Chay Longcrier, Elijah Caver, Tyler Caver, Madeline Caver, and Seth Caver and a host of other nieces and nephews.

Olis loved her family and friends and greeted everyone with the same kindness and love. She loved the Lord and shared her faith with everyone she came in contact with. She was a true servant to others and her life served as a testimony not only to her love for her family and friends, but to her faith in her Savior.

Celebration services will be held Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11 a.m. at the Selma Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy deBrabamt officiating.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services on Thursday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in Pineview Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Alan Caver, Tyler Caver, Seth Caver, Robert Caver, Keith Dixon, and Jimmy Friday.  The family would like to thank the staff of Arbor Springs Health and Rehab in Opelika  for the loving and dedicated care they gave our loved one. We would also like to thank Dana Gilchrist with SouthernCare Hospice for the compassionate care of our loved one during her final hours.  In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 of call 1-800-822-6344.
