The Beloit Community Association (BCA) held its eighth annual Back to School bash Saturday at the Beloit Community Center.
Backpacks were loaded with the basic school supplies: markers, pencils, crayons, notebooks, folders and glue.
BCA Secretary Ashley Walker-Hale said its always important to assist kids and parents with education.
“We do this to give back to our community,” Walker-Hale said. “We know it’s sometimes difficult for parents to keep up with monthly and daily bills. We know we’re in a low economic area. We’re trying to help.”
Kim Moppins coordinated the event. Members of the Selma Police Department (SPD) and Dallas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) were also on hand.
Sponsors for the school bash included Duncan Farms, Steward Construction, X-Max, Safford Hardware, Children’s Dentistry.
