Brooke Waters’ dream becomes reality

When we interviewed Brooke Waters last year for Selma The Magazine, one of her most notable quotes was about how her inspiration was the Food Network show “Kid’s Baking Championship.”
“… she would like the opportunity to compete on ‘Kid’s Baking Championship,’ no doubt inspired by her meeting with ‘Iron Chef Showdown’ winner Caleb Fischer, currently Executive Chef at ‘Bow & Arrow’ in Auburn,” according to our Selma The Magazine article.
We wrote this story at the end of 2018 and now, half a year later, we are writing about Waters’ time on “Kid’s Baking Championship.”
In such a short time, Waters went from wishing to doing by being cast on the television show that has been a big inspiration for her baking craft.
It just goes to show how much hard work and persistence pays off even for an 11-year-old.
Age should not be a factor when it comes to chasing our goals and dreams. We could all learn from Waters’ work ethic and determination to continue to pursue things that we want to achieve.
Good luck, Brooke and congratulations on making it through the first episode of “Kid’s Baking Championship.”
The next installment of “Kids Baking Championship” will appear on Food Network Monday, Aug. 12, at 8 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST).
