As candidates become known, make your own choice

It is nearly time again to let our voices be heard in another election this time on a local level.
With the election of our next mayor just 12 months away, it is important in starting to figure out who you will back in the upcoming election.
There will be a chance to meet those who are running on Sunday, Aug. 25, exactly one year to the day before Queen City residents rush to the polls for a municipal election, there will be a mayoral candidates’ forum held in the Selma High School auditorium at 2:30 p.m.
It is important for everyone in our city to attend this event.
To know what are current unconfirmed candidates will do for the city if elected is the biggest tool we have in selecting our next leader next year.
Whatever decision you make in supporting a candidate, make sure it is your own independent choice and not one that is made with the masses.
The choices we make in voting should be ours and ours alone.
We hope that Selma High School’s auditorium is packed with voters on Aug. 25 at 2:30 p.m.
It is important to know the issues and where each candidate stands on them.
