Chamber to recognize local eateries

The Selma – Dallas County Chamber of Commerce is participating in Alabama Restaurant Week by recognizing the places Selmians love to go eat.
As part of Selma Restaurant Week, the chamber will be promoting one or more restaurants each day through Sunday, Aug. 25.
Selma – Dallas County Chamber of Commerce Interim Destination and Marketing Coordinator Olivia Watts expressed her excitement for the week of recognition.
“We have a lot to offer here in Selma as a community,” said Watts. “Restaurant Week is to help shine a light on Selma and say thank you to all the restaurants that fulfill our needs. Selma is full of hardworking people that deserve to be appreciated for their years of service in our community with their restaurants.”
Golden Ranch BBQ and Grill was the first restaurant to be featured on Friday, Aug. 16.
This weekend’s featured eateries are Taco Bell on Saturday, Aug. 17 and Zaxby’s on Sunday, Aug. 18.
Monday, Aug. 19, area Mexican restaurants El Ranchero, Mi Tenampa and Valley Grande Mexican Grill will all be featured.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, the recently re-opened Steak Pit will take the spotlight.
Fast food favorites McDonald’s and KFC will be featured Wednesday, Aug. 21 and Thursday, Aug. 22, respectively.
On Friday, Aug. 23 area pizza stops Domino’s, Little Caesar’s and Pizza Hut will be recognized.
Next weekend, local favorite Tally-Ho Restaurant takes the stage on Saturday, Aug. 24 and Jack’s concludes Selma Restaurant week on Sunday, Aug. 25.
