Safe Harbor Women’s Medical Clinic hosted its annual charity golf tournament on Saturday afternoon and Safe Harbor Executive Director Jennifer Dobbs declared the event a success.
“We had a really great day,” she said. “All of our players seemed to have a good time.”
The charity golf tournament was thrown by Safe Harbor to raise money for its general fund.
Though the total amount hasn’t been completely calculated yet, Dobbs said this year’s tournament raised around $5,000 for the organization.
The funds collected Saturday will assist the clinic in providing free ultrasounds, pregnancy testing, counseling, parental education, baby items and supporting families facing unplanned pregnancies.
In addition to providing needed funding for the clinic, Saturday’s event provided the golfers with a beautiful, though hot, day at the Valley Grande Golf Course.
Several of the golfers were recognized for their efforts on the field with Will Pearce, Jones Free and Troy Harville coming out top, followed by Ray Hollingslead, Joe Crovato and Bill Newsome in second place and Steve Smitherman, Steve Spivey and Randy Moore taking home third.
Harville was also recognized for having the day’s longest drive.
“We really appreciate everyone who made Saturday’s tournament possible,” said Dobbs. “All of the players, sponsors and everyone else who supported us. It was a great day.”
