DCBOE Budget, middle schools

The Dallas County Board of Education approved the budget for the 2020 fiscal year, beginning Oct. 1 and continuing through Sept. 30, 2020, last week at its regularly scheduled board meeting.
The following is a closer look at the foundation program totals for each of the Dallas County School System’s two middle schools. Keith Middle-High School will be included in tomorrow’s look at Dallas County’s High Schools.
The foundation program total for Tipton Durant Middle School, with a projected enrollment of 236 students, is $972,339.
$673,733 of the total goes to the salaries of the school’s 23.4 employees.
$266,785 of the program total goes toward fringe benefits.
Classroom Instructional Support for Tipton Durant Middle totals $31,821 with $7,716 allotted for teacher materials and supplies, $4,501 for technology, $2,028 for library enhancement, $1,286 for professional development and $16,290 for textbooks.
The foundation program total for William R. Martin Middle School, with a projected enrollment of 264 students, is $1,371,279.
$962,352 of the total goes to the salaries of the school’s 24.1 employees.
$368,179 of the program total goes toward fringe benefits.
Classroom Instructional Support for William R. Martin Middle totals $40,748 with $10,260 allotted for teacher materials and supplies, $5,985 for technology, $2,697 for library enhancement, $1,170 for professional development and $20,096 for textbooks.
