Morgan defeated Wilcox Academy 5-4 in a marathon, 10-inning affair on Thursday.
After relinquishing a three-run lead in the top of the seventh inning, both teams played three scoreless innings before a Forrest Hughes single down the left field line scored Ryan Traylor for the winning run.
Connor Thorpe went six innings as the Senators built a 4-1 lead, but things got rocky in the top of the ninth. Traylor came on in relief and walked the first two batters. He gave up another walk and a single before giving way to Johnny Watts.
Watts got an out and gave up a walk before giving way to Thomas Austin.
Austin put out the fire, but the Wildcats tied the game on an error.
Facing a bases loaded situation, Morgan got the force out at the plate. Hughes attempted to force a double play, but his throw sailed high, allowing the Wildcats to tie the game.
Jay Gilmer led the Senators with a two-RBI single. Thorpe, Traylor, Austin Anderson and Reid Fondren garnered singles as well.
Morgan Harper led the Wildcats with three singles, and Clinton Mitchell added two more. John Helmers and Will Chapman added a single apiece.
