A Dallas County man was convicted for theft by a Dallas County Jury Thursday.
According to Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson, Bryan Johnson was convicted of theft of property and misapplication of property. The jury deliberated for 90 minutes before making their verdict.
Johnson’s first trial ended up in a mistrial after his attorney became ill during the trial.
Dallas County Circuit Court Judge Collins A. Pettaway ordered a Pre-Sentence Investigation and report. Jackson said Johnson will be sentenced in a few months and is facing up to 20 years in prison.
“This ex-volunteer fireman stole more money than Jessie James,” Jackson said. “He also violated the public trust in him. Another sad chapter in public corruption in Dallas County is coming to a close.”
