Kustom Kreations, the floral and gift shop located at 1622 Broad Street, will celebrate seven years of business this Valentine’s Day.
To celebrate seven years of business, mother-daughter shop owners Kimberly Williams and Cassie Richardson will be saying thank you to customers both new and old with free cupcakes all day on Friday.
Williams said that she felt it was important to express her appreciation to her customers.
“When Selma is good to you, you try your best to be good to her,” she said.
Williams said that Kustom Kreations grew out her love for arranging flowers.
“I just love pretty things,” she said.
Richardson said that her daughter has been fascinated with flowers since she was a child.
“She’s been doing his since she was eight years old,” she said.
As Williams grew up, she began doing floral arrangements for family events.
On Valentine’s Day, 2013, Williams turned her hobby into a business and opened the Kustom Kreations storefront.
“I’m so blessed to turn my talent, but something that was just a hobby, into a business,” said Williams.
Williams brought her mom, a retired nurse, aboard to help her run the storefront.
“Everybody knows and loves my mom,” she said. “I wanted to help her out by giving her something to do when she retired.”
Williams said that both she and her mother have a “special touch” when designing arrangements.
“That’s why we’re ‘Kustom Kreations’” she said. “We’ll work with you get you exactly what you want. That customer service is important to us. Even if you call, we want you to hear us smiling through the phone.”
Kustom Kreations is open Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., and Saturday 8 a.m. – noon.
