Local non-profit organization Wannabe Rescued still has tickets remaining for its 5th Annual Draw Down Fundraiser.
The first prize winner of the Draw Down will receive $3,500, the second prize winner will receive $1,000 and the third prize winner will receive $500.
The raffle tickets for the draw down, which will take place April 11 at 6:30 p.m. at the Sandbar Restaurant, cost $50 and can be purchased at Northside Animal Hospital, Valley Creek Veterinary Hospital and the Downtowner Restaurant.
Tickets can also be purchased from any Wannabe Rescued Member, through the Wannabe Rescued Facebook Page or by calling 334-412-1963 or 251-610-5758.
“We’ll bring them wherever you need them,” said Wannabe Rescued Volunteer Jennifer Tolbert.
Tolbert said the Draw Down is the second-largest fundraiser for Wannabe Rescued all year, after the Bow Wow Benefit Auction.
“We’ve never not sold all of our tickets,” said Tolbert.
According to Tolbert, after the $5,000 in prize money is accounted for, the other $5,000 Wannabe Rescued earns from selling the raffle tickets goes toward ensuring shelter dogs are vaccinated, spayed or neutered and fed.
Tolbert said that ticket buyers do not have to be at The Sandbar to win, Wannabe Rescued will let entrees know what numbers have been drawn via Facebook.
However, Tolbert said the evening at The Sandbar would be a fun time for anyone interested.
“We’d love for everyone to come out,” she said. “You can eat, drink and hope your ticket isn’t pulled until the very end.”
Tolbert thanked The Sandbar, Northside Animal Hospital, Valley Creek Veterinary Hospital, The Downtowner and Wannabe Rescued’s group of monthly supporters for making the Draw Down Possible.
“We couldn’t do it without them,” she said.
