Octavious Palmer added another All-state honor to his resume.
The Autauga Academy forward made the Alabama Sportswriters Association (ASWA) All-state basketball team.
Palmer, who played football and basketball at Dallas County High School, made the AISA first-team. He averaged 17.5 points a game.
“It’s a great feeling to be listed as one of the best players in the state,” Palmer said. “My hard work paid off. I give God the glory for giving me the ability.”
The 6-foot-5 Palmer earned honorable mention honors on the ASWA All-State football team at quarterback as the Generals won a AISA state title.
Palmer is the latest family member to make the All-State team.
His father, Tracy Palmer, was a standout at Autaugaville High School in the 1990s and on the Eagles’ 1990 state title team.
Tracy Palmer was first-team All-State in 1990 and honorable mention during his senior year in 1991. “It feels great seeing my son accomplish the award I got,” Tracy Palmer said. “Seeing him playing through a serious hip injury brings joy to my soul.”
