The Christian Outreach Alliance (COA) Food Pantry will be distributing food to the needy of Dallas County on Wednesday, April 22, from 10 a.m. to noon, or whenever the organization runs out of food, whichever comes first.
The pantry is usually open on Thursdays, but organizers decided to distribute food on Wednesday instead due to a chance of severe weather on Thursday.
The COA will use a drive-thru method to distribute food as well as social distancing and other health and safety precautions to keep clientele and volunteers safe.
The only thing required for anyone in Dallas county to receive food is a photo ID.
Any Dallas County resident who needs food, has a photo ID and has not been to the pantry this month will be illegible to get food this Wednesday.
The COA Food Pantry has distributed food weekly for over 25 years, but has has adjusted its schedule to being open twice a month to give out a monthly amount during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
The COA Food Pantry is located at 700 J.L. Chestnut Blvd.
Cars are asked to enter the lot coming north on Mabry St.
Anyone interested in volunteering is urged to stop by the COA Food Pantry or send a message via the organization’s Facebook page.
Anyone who would like to make a donation may drop off food or send monetary donations to PO Box 2141, Selma, AL 36702.
