Rural Health Medical Program Inc. is teaming with Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama and Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed to increase COVID-19 testing in Montgomery and the Black Belt Region.

RHMPI and HMMA are working with the City of Montgomery, and Assurance Labs to conduct Drive Through testing across Clarke County, Dallas County, Perry County, Marengo County, Monroe County, and Wilcox County.

HMMA President and CEO Byungjin Jin said the support stems from a request from Reed who wanted more tests for Montgomery and surrounding communities when the first COVID-19 cases were confirmed statewide.

Testing is open to both RHMPI patients and non-patients both insured and uninsured. Each person will be required to complete the COVID- 19 pre-screening survey to determine testing eligibility. If an individual does not meet COVID-19 pre-screening criteria, each individual will have the option to receive a telehealth visit from one of the providers.

Drive-ups are welcomed but will be limited per testing site each day. Each individual will follow the same COVID-19 pre-screening criteria to determine testing eligibility.

Test results will only be provided Monday – Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. by a member of the RHMPI COVID-19 Clinical Team.

Seoyon E-Hwa and Lear Selma are suppliers for Hyundai. Seoyon E-Hwa, based in South Korea, announced in March that they would invest $5.14 million and add 60 jobs in Dallas County. Lear Selma arrived to the area in 2004.
