Northside Baptist Church and R&B Barbecue teamed up to feed Dallas County youth Saturday afternoon in Valley Grande.
Cars drove up to the R&B Barbecue parking lot and received a brown paper bag with hot dogs, potato chips and soft drinks from Kathy Smith of Northside Baptist Church and owner Barbara White. Children were 14 and under.
Smith said their third feeding is all part of spreading the word of God to Dallas County youth. The first two giveaways were held at Vasser’s Mini-Mart earlier this year.
“It’s all about God’s love, he wants us to help the community,” Smith said. “We can’t do anything without God. People need to know about God. We not only invite people to Northside Baptist Church, we want them to go to church. They need Jesus right now.”
White said she wants to share her blessing with others.
“God has blessed me and it means a lot to help,” White said. “The little children need to know about God.”
White’s husband, Valley Grande councilman Tim White, also assisted with the feeding. They’ve been married for 39 years.
“It means a lot to give back to the community and help people get through this pandemic,” Tim White said.
