Bailey Kincey Green, Jr., age 69, resident of Selma, passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 1, 2020. He was born in Selma on February 28, 1951 to Bailey Kincey Green and Anna Norris Green of Selma. He was preceded in death by his parents and numerous beloved aunts and uncles. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joy Edwards Green, his daughter, Katherine Kincey Green Robertson (Ryan), his grandson, Townsend Kincey Robertson, his sisters, Linda Green King (Andy) and Leila Green Harris (Bill), and his brother, Norris Walton Green (Cathy). He is also survived by his sisters-in law, Alice Edwards Yarbrough (Cecil) and LeeAnne Edwards Odom (Burt), and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.

He graduated from Parrish High School and was a devoted member of the Class of ‘69. He graduated from the University of Alabama in 1973, where he was a member of the Kappa Alpha Order, received his Masters of Business Administration, andhis Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 1977. He spenthis career practicing law with the Reeves and Stewart firm, alongside Edgar A. Stewart and Archibald T. Reeves, Jr., Mortimer Ames, and later Allen S. Reeves.  He served as a Sunday School teacher and youth group mentor for many years at Church Street United Methodist Church, and more recently at Shiloh Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher and deacon. He served his community faithfully on the Board of Selma Teen Challenge, the Board of the Salvation Army, the Leukemia Society, as local co-chair of the American Heart Fund, the Sturdivant Museum Association Board of Directors, President of the Dallas County Bar Association, the YMCA Board of Directors, the Selma Dallas County Chamber of Commerce, and quietly served many other missions and individuals in need.

A graveside service was held at New Live Oak Cemetery in Selma on Friday, September 4, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Active pallbearers will be John Moorer Traylor, William Russell Buster, III, Steven Robert Berryman, JerryLynn Batts, Daniel Ellis Phillips, Thomas Octavius Smith, IV, George Lee Ousley, David Randall Boyd, Richard Elliott Broughton, William David Newton,and Samuel Angus LeMaistre, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of Shiloh Baptist Church. Dr. William H. Gardner will be conducting the service.
