Two people were killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Marengo County.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the crash occurred when a 1998 Ford Expedition driven by Nelson Anayna Munoz of Clanton, struck a 1998 Volvo Tractor Trailer driven by Catherine’s Marlon St. Charles Jones. Catherine is in Wilcox County.

Munoz, 44, and a passenger Jose Villadomez, 31, of Thorsby, were both pronounced dead at the scene. Thorsby is in Chilton County.

The two other passengers in the Ford were injured and transported to an area hospital for treatment. The crash occurred on Alabama 69 near the 83-mile marker about 12 miles north of Linden in Marengo County.

The accident remains under investigation by the ALEA Highway Patrol Division.
