No. 8 Morgan Academy visits top-ranked Glenwood Academy in AISA semifinals

Eighth-ranked Morgan Academy faces its toughest test of the season in the AISA Semifinals.
The Senators (8-2) travel to No. 1 Glenwood Academy (10-0) in a AISA semifinal contest at 7 p.m. Friday night.
“We’re really glad to still be playing,” Morgan Academy coach Danny Raines said. “Glenwood has a great football. We’re looking forward to the challenge.”
Offensive linemen Clayton O’ Shields and Matthew Free both said they’re thrilled to have a shot at playing for a state title.
“It feels amazing, all the hard work we have all put into the program paid off,” O’Shields said.
Added Free: “I think it is well deserved for all of the work we have put in during this season. “I’m excited as well as my teammates to be able to show what we can do on the field.”
Morgan Academy closed its unbeaten home slate with a 56-16 win over Hooper Academy in the first round last week.
Senator stars from the victory over the Colts were: Holt Utsey (177 yards rushing, 3 total touchdowns); Trey Jones (12 total tackles), Matthew Free (11 total tackles), Scott Lalone (10 total tackles), John Allen Ingram (10 total tackles).
It was the final home game for seniors Cobb Beers, Matthew Free, Brody Roberts, Clayton O’Shields, Chris Gardner, Scott Lalone, Josh Brown, Holt Utsey and Kenny Nichols.
