A Pine Hill Policeman was shot Thursday night in the line of duty.
According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, officer Ricky Anthony Pugh was shot twice in the leg and once in the hand trying to serve a warrant to Ira Robinson around 1 a.m. Thursday.
Jackson said was taken to a hospital in Mobile to get treated for injuries. Robinson is in the Wilcox County Jail.
“The police officer was assisting two Wilcox County Sheriff deputies serving a warrant on the defendant for attempted murder,” Jackson said. “Thankfully, the officer will live. The SBI is investigating.”
Jackson presides over the Fourth Judicial District, which consists of Dallas County, Perry County, Bibb County, Hale County and Wilcox County.
