A Wilcox County man will be charged with attempted murder for shooting a Pine Hill Police Officer two months ago.

According to Fourth Judicial District Attorney Michael Jackson, Wilcox County District Court Judge Briana Westry found probable cause to charged Ida Robinson for attempted murder with the shooting of officer Ricky Pugh Jr.

The incident occurred on Dec.4 when Pugh was trying to serve a warrant against Robinson, who’s wanted for attempted murder.

Jackson said Pugh was shot three times, once in the left hand and twice in his right leg. A pinky finger had to get amputated.

The case will be bound over to a Wilcox County grand jury.
