Northside Baptist Church and the Dallas County Sheriff Office donated Christmas gifts to a Valley Grande family.

DCSO Deputies John Strickland and JT Cole were joined by Gene Hisel, Kathy Smith, Jerry Smith and Patti Driggers at the residence of Shannon Travis in Valley Grande. Travis is a mother of four children between the ages of 13 and 10 months.

Boxes contained diapers, milk, toys, clothes, cookies, bread, assorted meats to the Travis family.

Travis said she appreciated the donations from Northside Baptist Church and the DCSO.

“It’s a true blessing, I am grateful that Northside Baptist Church and the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office did this,” Travis said.

Kathy Smith said she got the information about Travis’ situation from Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum.

“When we found out from Sheriff Granthum, we jumped on this,” Kathy Smith said. “There’s nothing better than to help people.”
