Selma City Councilwoman Christie Thomas was appointed to the Water Works & Sewer Board of the City of Selma.
The Selma City Council approved the selection of Thomas at its city council meeting on Tuesday night.
Thomas replaces Millie Vick. Her two-year term began Wednesday and will end in October, 2024.
Selma City Council President Billy Young said that Thomas is well-qualified for the role. She is currently the Office Manager at ClearWater Solutions, LLC. Her previous roles included: customer service specialist for Pioneer Electric Cooperative, West Dallas Water Authority, and South Dallas Water Authority.
“Christie Thomas has knowledge of the Water System and the Water Works,” Young said. “We are grateful to have someone of her skill and caliber to the Water Board. We are glad to have the only female to serve on the water board.”
Thomas said she’s looking forward to serving on the Water Board.
