Two women were involved in a fatal shooting on Thursday morning in the parking lot of Seoyon E-Hwa.
Dallas County Sheriff Mike Granthum and Dallas County District Attorney Michael Jackson said that Cherrell Tyus, 29, shot and killed Kadeeja Lee, 28, at the 200 block of Craig Field Industrial complex. Granthum said the incident occurred between 5:45 a.m. and 6 a.m. Thursday morning and he said the two women are Seoyon E-Hwa employees.
Granthum said DCSO deputies arrived to Seoyon E-Hwa and saw the video, which a car pulled up against another vehicle. According to the video, Tyus got out of her vehicle, went to the passenger side and shot Lee several times. As Lee opened the door, she fell down. Lee was eventually pronounced dead.
Granthum said that the DCSO eventually located Tyus on 306 County Road. After the DCSO arrested Tyus and retrieved the gun, Granthum said Tyus admitted to shooting Lee, but did not give a motive.
“All Tyus said was, ‘she pushed me too far,’ Granthum said.
Granthum said Tyus is being charged with capital murder because she shot the woman in the vehicle. Granthum said more charges could be coming against Tyus, who’s currently in the Dallas County Jail with no bond.
